Day 3: St. Louis to Salina, KS

Today began with an early departure from St. Louis as we set off for Salina, Kansas. We stopped for breakfast at a McDonald's, and then continued on the drive through Missouri.

The bus ride provided scenic views of farms and flat grassy pastures. The travelers passed the time with the occasional nap and a viewing of Secretariat. This movie gave more insight to Churchill Downs and the significance of the Kentucky Derby.

We took a break for lunch in Lawrence, KS, home of the University of Kansas. Jayhawk pride was easily spotted during our drive through the town.

Our hotel for the evening was Comfort Suites in Salina, KS. Once everyone settled in, we had a group meeting and talked about some tour expectations and procedures. Safety is of the upmost importance!

The entertainment for the night was a trip to the mall and to the movies. The group had the choice of seeing Finding Dory or Central Intelligence. Both were enjoyed by all!

A few took a turn at mini bungee jumping!

After a long travel day, everyone is looking forward to Colorado tomorrow!
